How studio SYG Was Born
The first bubble ring.
My imperfect little experiment.
It all started with the bubble ring pictured above. This is actually the first one.
Frustrated by the find something similar on Etsy and other craft marketplaces, I thought, “Fuck it, I’ll make it myself.” With no formal training, I ordered supplies online and began experimenting. To my surprise, the first piece I created matched the vision in my mind. It wasn’t perfect, but I fucking loved it—and more importantly, I fell in love with the process.
My imperfect little experiment started getting noticed. Compliments poured in, and soon people began asking me to make jewelry for them. What began as a casual side project quickly became something more.
By the end of June, life threw me a curveball. After spending almost a decade as a hair and makeup artist in film and TV, my back and right hand were completely fucked. I realized I couldn’t continue working full-time in such a physically demanding industry. I faced a crossroads—and I made a decision: I would officially start my own jewelry brand.
Launching SYG was more than just a career pivot; it was a life change. It gave me the chance to leave the big city and move to the Bulgarian countryside, a dream I had held for years. Today, I’m surrounded by the tranquility of nature and the joyful chaos of my many cats, working from my own art studio in a charming country house that I’m lovingly renovating.
In this studio, I create whatever my heart fucking desires—bold, statement pieces that blend architectural inspiration with a touch of cheekiness. While this chapter feels like a new beginning, I’m sure it’s just the start of an exciting journey. I can’t wait to see how studio SYG evolves and expands from here.
A massive thank you to everyone who hyped me up, supported me, and believed in my imperfect little experiments. Your encouragement means the fucking world to me, and studio SYG wouldn’t be what it is without you. Here’s to creating, dreaming, and making it all happen together!
